An uncanny mix that totally makes sense - whether it's Cuban rumba with Bengali folk, Afrobeat played on Asian and Latin instruments, or Brazillian Samba with Indian classical - the music of Lokkhi Terra epitomises musical fusion and reflects the diverse cultures of Great Britain. Bengalis, English, Cubans, Brazilians and Nigerians all living in the same country, playing on the same stages, creating new soundscapes which bring new accents and new grooves to traditional forms of music.
"Fantastic" - BBC Asia Today

WHERE: The band are equally at home in a bustling Latin club as in an Asian Mela. In February 2010 they performed at the closing ceremony of the South Asian Games broadcast live throughout Asia, and returned to Bangladesh earlier this year to perform in the countries first World Music festival. In the UK, they have been tearing up the festival circuit for two summers running, as well as appearances ranging from the Queen Elizabeth Hall to Passing Clouds in Hackney. Their music has been used in two international films – The Last Thakur (Artificial Eye/Channel 4), and “Everywhere and Nowhere” (Arena Productions). Radio play has also been international, championed by Radio 1’s Giles Peterson and Radio 3’s Lopa Kothari.
